    CBRN-TL held a workshop to celebrate World Women's Day in the municipality of Viqueque Post Lacluta.

    Dilor, 8 March 2024, Community based rehabilitation network Timor-Leste celebrated International Women's Day in the Municipality of Viqueque at the Lacluta Administrative Post of Dilor Village to mark a joint effort and collective effort to recognize and celebrate the great strength, resilience, and achievement of women with disabilities and women without disabilities around the world, especially Timor-Leste. With the theme of the celebration of "appreciation with him, in which the equity of the economy is more equitable,"

    "CBRN-TL is an organization of persons with disabilities with a commitment to create an inclusive society where women with disabilities and women without disabilities have the capacity to make changes, so not only to be recognized as women, women with disabilities, and women without disabilities, but to be recognized for having the potential to face opportunities to overcome all social barriers," said the Executive Director of CBRN-TL, Norberta Soares.

    The objective of this workshop is to create a space for dialogue, joint learning, and collaboration to increase the language of women with disabilities and women without disabilities by ensuring their unique perspective and the community and society experts listen to, valuing their integration into the implementation of development programs.

    At this event, the Chief of the village of Dilor Jacinto Ximenes said.” As the target village for the implementation of the 2024 International Women's Day celebration event. It is a pleasure for the community, community leaders, and local and national NGO to listen and share what they do with women with disabilities and women without disabilities to recognize women's success and continue to carry out programs and activities that can empower women with disabilities and women without disabilities”.

This International Day is to remind all of us and society, such as the local authority, to work together to overcome the various barriers faced by persons with disabilities, for example, physical accessibility and how persons with disabilities who use a wheel chain can freely access public places and buildings such as schools, health centres, churches, and village headquarters. This is also the moment to give recognition to women's support and support for men to date the success of a woman's support”.

    This activity invites several sources of information from partners, such as local NGOs, government institutions, and the private sector, to share their work and different perspectives on services related to gender equality and social inclusion. CBRN-TL invited the Dilor Village Local Authority, the Secretary of State for Equality (SEI) of the Municipality of Viqueque, the Child Protection Officer, the VBJ Social Solidarity Centre of the Municipality of Viqueque, the National Bank of Commerce of Timor-Leste (BNCTL), and CBRN-TL. Women Postential Municipality of Viqueque and PNTL/VPU Municipality of Viqueque.

    The event was attended by the community, Suco Structure Dilor, Lalini, Uma Tolu, and Ahik, Post Administrator, PNTL/VPU, local NGO, students, and teacher.

    Together, we celebrate women's success and the empowerment of women with disabilities and women without disabilities over all barriers in this society.
